Brand Refresh &
Website Redesign
Quick Facts
Timeline: 3 Weeks
My Role: Digital & Brand Designer
Tools: Adobe Illustrator, Squarespace, Photoshop, and Google Drive.

Maria's Voice and I realized their website needed a redesign due to inconsistent styles and accessibility issues. We created brand guidelines while lightly refreshing the brand during the website redesign project.
Website Design Process
The Research Phase
In the website redesign process, we reviewed elements like color and font choices, accessibility concerns, and confusing copy. I researched by interviewing key stakeholders and studying similar non-profit websites. I also assessed our current website to pinpoint areas needing improvement.
Creating a Homepage Prototype
After completing the copy, I developed a homepage prototype to present the design concept and facilitate collaboration with the co-founder and executive director on information architecture. I emphasized the theme of "Voices," showcasing how Maria's Voice and others use their voice to combat domestic violence.
The feedback was mostly positive, leading to minor adjustments in copy and information architecture while retaining the overall structure.
Designing in Squarespace
After finalizing the homepage design and information architecture, I built the website on Squarespace using a tight feedback loop with the co-founder and executive director. I also ensured the website looked good on mobile devices.
The End Result
The team received an overwhelmingly positive response after the official launch of the new website. Our efforts to give the website a more cohesive look and improve its content paid off, making it more accessible to users. The next significant task for the website was the development of the Prevention Network Online Course. I was responsible for creating an easy-to-use online course using the existing content of Maria's Voice Prevention Network.
